WHILE many people are only now discovering Croatia, the rich and famous have known about this little piece of heaven on Earth for a while now. Croatia is one of the favourite summer destinations of many celebrities thanks to its beautiful coast, crystal clear sea, numerous historical sites, as well as its top festivals and parties.
1. Bill Gates
Bill Gates has been coming to Croatia for his summer vacation for years now. He always cruises the Adriatic Sea with his yacht and is often spotted walking around Croatian historic sites with his family, just like any other tourist.
2. Beyonce and Jay-Z
Beyonce and Jay-Z visited the Croatian coast during the singer’s first pregnancy and her daughter Blue Ivy was named after the ivy growing on the island of Hvar. The little girl was later named honorary citizen of Hvar.
3. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
While he was single, Prince Harry liked to visit Hvar. He was quite a fan of the parties there – he would hit on girls and dance all night long.
His wife Meghan Markle visited Croatia in 2014, and she wrote about the visit on her blog.
4. John Terry
The legendary British football player visited Croatia in 2016 with his family. He would post daily videos of the vacation on Instagram. He visited the coast with his yacht, which he paid 550,000 euros a week.
5. Craig David
In 2012, Croatia mesmerized the singer Craig David, who stated that the Adriatic Sea was "breath-taking". He shared that on social media, where he posted many photos of his vacation.
6. Bernie Ecclestone
Former Croatian son-in-law Bernie Ecclestone visits the Adriatic coast almost every year, usually on his luxury yacht.

Donald Trump’s daughter visited Croatia two years ago with her 200 million dollar yacht, together with her husband Jared. She visited Čiovo, Dubrovnik, Hvar...

Members of the band U2, together with Bono Vox, are huge fans of Croatia, mostly Dubrovnik, which they happily strolled around in 2016. The Edge even posed for a photo, giving a thumb up to Dubrovnik.
