U PROSJEČNOJ kuhinji svakog dana nestaje više hrane nego što mislimo, i to ne zato što je pojedemo, već zato što je bacimo. Kora od kruha, uvelo povrće, prezrelo voće ili ostaci kave - sve to često završi u smeću, a moglo je postati dio ukusnog jela.

Povodom Dana planeta Zemlje, donosimo nekoliko jednostavnih i inspirativnih ideja kako izvući maksimum iz namirnica koje već imamo, štedeći pritom novac, resurse i naš planet. Evo što napraviti s korama od banane i limuna, starim kruhom, ostacima šunke od Uskrsa...

1. Kore od banane

Kore od banane dosad ste sigurno bacali, no to više ne mora biti slučaj. Od nekoliko kora možete napraviti super preljev, koji možete koristiti za prelijevanje palačinki, nekog drugog deserta ili, idealno, kruha od banane. Kako ga napraviti, saznajte ovdje.

Prepare the Bananas: * Wash the bananas thoroughly. * Cut off the head and bottom parts. * Poke through each banana with a stick and cook them directly on the coals until the peels are soft and blackened. * Allow the bananas to cool slightly, then blend them (with peels) until smooth. 2. Mix Wet Ingredients: * In a large bowl, combine the blended bananas, sugar or sweetener, plant-based milk, vanilla extract, and oil. 3. Mix Dry Ingredients: * In a separate bowl, mix the flours,baking soda, and salt. 4. Combine Ingredients: * Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. * Fold in any optional mix-ins (nuts, dried fruit, vegan chocolate chips). 5. Prepare the Skillet: * Pour the batter into the bread mould * Place it inside the skillet on top ofa grill that fits in the skillet so that the bottom won’t burn and cover with the lid 6. 2. Polovice limuna

3. Neispucana zrna kokica

Neispucana zrnca kokica ni pod razno ne bacajte - i njih možete ponovno iskoristiti. Neispucana zrna kokica stavite u papirnatu vrećicu, sličnu onoj od kupovnih kokica, i presavijte je nekoliko puta kako zrna ne bi ispala van. Vrećicu zatim stavite u mikrovalnu na dvije minute kako bi zrna ispucala - i to je to.

4. Ostaci šunke od Uskrsa

Umjesto da se pitate što sa šunkom nakon Uskrsa i eventualno je zaboravite dok ne završi u kanti, možete je iskoristiti na mnogo načina i od nje napraviti ukusna jela, poput punjenih pilećih rolica ili kremaste tjestenine s ostacima šunke. 5. Lišće rotkvica

Iako je lišće rotkvica često zapostavljeno, ono je bogato hranjivim tvarima i može biti izuzetno korisno u kuhinji, a uz to i ekološki prihvatljivo jer ne morate baciti ni komadić ove biljke. Jedan od najjednostavnijih i najukusnijih načina za iskoristiti lišće rotkvica je dodati ga u salate. Mogu se koristiti svježi listovi, koji će dodati lagani, začinski okus drugom povrću. Osim toga, od lišća možete napraviti i ukusni pesto.

6. Stari kruh

Sigurno vam se često dogodi da vam u kuhinji ostane starog kruha. Umjesto da ga bacite, iskoristite ga na odličan način i od njega napravite super prilog koji će ići uz sve umake - knedle od kruha.
