THERE are currently 815,000 tourists in Croatia, and a quarter of them comes from the German market. Vir is the Croatian destination with the most guests, followed by  Rovinj, Medulin, Crikvenica, and Porec.

"We should be satisfied with the results, even though they don't come close to the results of last year, but given the situation, not only in Croatia but also in European markets, I think we are doing great. Looking at the period from January until today, the numbers show that we are now at almost 50 percent of the last season's results," stated the president of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Stanicic for N1.

Tourist traffic has continued to intensify in the first seven days of August due to an increase in air traffic to Croatia at the end of July. The president of the CNTB states that this is a good thing because it led to an increase in visitors to Split and Dubrovnik area.

He states that the data show there are more individual guests than organized arrivals and that most of the tourists have chosen to stay in private apartments. Camps and small hotels are also doing well, and he hopes this trend will continue until the end of August.

This weekend, a lot of tourists are coming to Croatia, and traffic jams are expected.
